I haven't had good experiences with Optodiscs. I still have an unopened 25 pack cake box which I'm not even sure why i'm keeping. The other 3 were terrible. I've read about as much good as bad so I guess it's all about your luck with them.

Mixed results with these wearing the Radius brand name. Sometimes they will, sometimes they won't. Some drives they will and some won't. For sure, they are too tempermental for my data and video backup requirements.

The Ridata's (Ricoh) have much better success with my Plextor and TEAC drives.

I spoke with Plextor yesterday and they were telling me that they recommend only top name brand media like Ricoh, Taiyo Yuden, TDK, Maxell, and Verbatim. They said it's not the manufacture of the disc that matters as much as the order specifications of the brand reseller, and that reseller's desire to maintain a good reputation. I agree!

My CMC Magnetics (which is supposed to be a poor quality manufacture), TDK branded +R 4x's burn perfectly in my TEAC and Plextor drives. No coasters yet, and perfect video results. However, my Memorex blanks, also made by CMC Magnetics, won't burn worth beans and are only good for shooting range targets or a mirror for my parrot's cage.

Quality varies widely, so best to stay with top name brands recommended by your drive manufacturer, and, to try a few different top brands at first to see what your drive and software configuration are most compatible with.

So not a very positive picture or just a few bad experiences?

Come on! Anyone got anything good to say about these?
