i made my first VCD the other nite, turned out to be pixelated and blocky, so when i used TMPGEnc the 2nd time i turned on noise reduction, but now when i play it on my stand alone player the framrate is too slow.
What will i do?

What are you trying to make a VCD of? What I mean about making it from are you trying to make a VCD of a dvd. Need just a little more info.

Thanks for the response ... I use .AVI files, i run them through avi2vcd to decompress the sound, then run them through the free version of TMPGEnc, then burn it to CDR with Nero.
The files are near perfect before TMPGEnc, after it their still as crisp, but the fram rate has slowed ...

simple dont use noise reduction =P, and make sure your encoding the file to the right framerate, with TMPGEnc you have to encode the file to the framerate that it already has or you'll get jerky playback ect etc. use g-spot codec information to check what framerate your source uses.http://www.headbands.com/gspot/download.html
if you really want to use filters, learn how to use avisynth because tmpgencs filters are really quite shite.

anoter thing why your video is blocky, cause VCD is normally constant bitrate, so no rate control there, bits are not distributed very well.
so try to use vbr, i hope your player will still play it.

In your avi2vcd go to the tab encoder. is it set to 2 pass variable bitrate?
This might help out your AVI. The only thing is when I do it I don't get any sound. I do this with AVI to SVCD. I have not found out why I don't get any sound as of yet. This might be different with VCD.

Quote: How do i adjust the framerate in TMPGEnc?
how many frames per second(fps) did g-spot tell you your source was?? 29.97? 23.97? or 25?, if its 29.97fps open up the wizard(easiest) and select the NTSC template, if its 23.97fps select the ntscfilm template or if its 25fps select the PAL template.
