Hi all,
I bought the xecuter 2.3b lite. I also bought the Xapter which is supposed to make it an easy to fit solderless job. I have gone through all the procedures a few times and everything looks good - here's what happens when I turn the xbox on:
FRAG! Yep, turns on three times and on the third time, remains on with the eject button flashing green and red. Just to point out, the blue LEDs do light up and also the green LED on the swith panel. And the switch panel seems to work, because if I switch it to disable, the Xbox still boots up fine.
I have heard that the eject button will flash green and orange if it was a successful fit (with DVD and HD removed at least) and the funny thing is, if I remove the AV wire, this does happen - but plug it in again and it's back to red and green. Also, when I do turn on with hard drive and dvd in place etc and chip active, there is no video output at all.
Have I done something wrong with the xapter? According to all guides I can find, the wires that come with the Xecuter are not needed (apart from the switch panel wire). The wire coming out of rht Xapter, does that simply rest in the hole or the D0 point? I know I have the correct D0 point by the way, and my Xbox is (pretty sure) v1.0. One last point, the holes where the Xapter rest (where you usually solder) are full of solder - however in the guide it says this doesn't matter for Xapter - I'm pretty sure it's not an alignment problem as I must have taken it out and screwed it back in about 20 times now to make sure....!
If anyone can shed any light or has had the same or similar problem, I'd very much appreciate your advice as this is driving me crazy!

I was having the exact same problem, except I was using a pro instead of a lite with the xapter. It was just not making a good connection. I reconnected everything, leaving the chip accessable. I then put a little pressure on the chip while turning the xbox on. I got the correct screen! Clean the connections and then try loosening and then readjusting the xapter.
Please let me know if I have helped or if there is something I can clear up!

Hi i808i,
Thanks for the response - you know what? I actually just soldered it in instead... I was a bit wary of soldering my Xbox which is why I got the adapter, but it turned out to be a real doddle - easier infact than trying to line up the adapter. Thanks again,

Hello, i have the exact same problem as you, Jason T. I bought an Executer 2.3 lite with xadapter, but it would start, so someone helped me Solder it with the wires, not the pin header. The problem if i enable the chip and turn the xbox on with it enabled, it doesnt start (shuts down 3 times and starts flashing red and green). But if the chip and the extentions are coneected and do get powered on. The only way to work, its if I turn it on without the modchip enabled... what exactly did you do to get the chip to work? and what was it that you soldered, the pins or the wires? oh, and did you do anything special to the D0 point before you soldered it?, because I didnt, and my xbox is 1.1.
Any help with this would be truly apreciated, thanks in advance

My xbox did the exact same thing. The blue lights on my modchip would light up and it would still frag.So what i did was took the xapter out then put it back in again but only turn the screw a tiny bit. Then i put the chip on top of it.Then press down on the top of the chip so that the xapter gos right in and is flush with the mainboard. Then while holding down the chip screw down the screw quiet tight until it wont go any more. Now the xapter is there to stay.Put the wire in the wire into the D0 point. This worked for me first time around.
Hope it helps.

I know this isn't the same modchip, but I bought a Xenium chip with the xapter and the xapter sucks.I was thinking it would be easy to use a no solder, but this adapter blows.I have a couple reasons why its sucks and the main reason is where the modchip is located on the xapter. The problem with this is the fact that the modchip can easily move just by a simple movement.I used the actual adapter made for the Executer 2.3b Lite Plus chip and this adapter is a whole lot better. The screw you use to tighten the chip down which won't move at all.The fact that I didn't have to keep moving the adapter around which can cause you to scrape the motherboard on certain points if you are not too carefull. The adapter is just not right and I don't like it for the fact of having the adapter for these reasons.I never did get the Xenium chip to work and it could have been alot of reasons at the time since I was new to modding my xbox when I had it.I think the chip was actually bad in fact, because I tried alot of times and cleaned the points alot.If I was gonna buy a modchip for the Xbox now I would probably get the X-Bit,because the chip aint bad and they have there own solderless adapter for it.I would just go with the actual solderless adapters made from the actual modchip creators is what I am saying.Anyways yeah the xapter isn't a easy solderless adapter.I am wondering what kind of adapter they are working on for the Executer 3 chip.I heard it was near the power button or something like that.

The solder method is really the best. I prefer the pin header so I can switch chips. The X3 comes with Reset eject no solder adapter, pin header, wires and switches. If your upgrading from a 2.x chip you just have to add 4 pins to the header pin and connect the reset eject no solder adapter.
ver 1.0, 1.5 and 1.6 with 200gb hdds & X3. Team Xecuter Pro front panel with LCD Screen (rocks). GC with qoob pro, Team xecuter's iced cube case mod and a BBA.

The adapter sucks for real N2HU no lie.The adapter isn't that hard for a person that knows what he/she is doing, but for a novice modder yeah I wouldn't recommend the Xapter.

I already solved the problem with the actual adapter that came with the Xecuter 2.3b Lite Plus version, but when I got the Xenium chip long time ago I gave up on it and shipped it back and got my money back.I turned around and got the decent adapter instead.I would just wait and get the Xecuter 3 with there official adapter when that comes out or either Xbit or something like that.I don't know I didn't have trouble using the older adapter which in my oppinion was a alot easier than this one.

yeah I had same problem n so did 2 of my mates,Screw with the xadapter is crap,no matter wat u do the springs on the pin header are stronger than the plastic so it jus bends away n dont work. Scrwe to tight n u bust it. Best bet is to solder xadapter is a waste a time.
