Trying to re-encode using TMPGEnc Plus using either the DVD_PAL or DVDNTSC template. When I get to th escrren where you can change the bitrate etxc XVid's are giving crazy values. ie 292mins instead of 110mins????. Have re-installed codecs but still the same. DivX's are fine and let me downsample so can fit 3/4 films on a DVD but Xvids are screwed up.

Try extracting the audio first using River-Past Audio Converter or something similar. Then when you select video & audio locations -- use the xvid file as the video and then your new converted wav 48-khz (DVD compatible!) file for the audio.
I had the same problem. I think it's something to do with the audio being MP3/AC3.
It worked for me. Try it!!

I've had similar problems. Not sure why it occurs,
but fixed in by deselecting avi(opendml) and
letting it default to dshow in Tmpgenc/environment.

where do you de-select OpenDml???
Found it, and you are correct gives the correct length when not selected. On this not what priorities do you assign each codec too?

all you have to do is convert the audio to wav with vdub or something similar(i'll give ya's a link to a simple yet very effective audio decompressor if you want). if TMPGEnc still over-estimates the file size/length use 'source range' in the advanced tab to set your start frame and your end frame, so you tell TMPGEnc to encode exactly what you want(the 110minutes instead of the 292 oddmintues)

cheerz
