hi--
I've just converted a avi XVID file to mpeg-2 using TMPGEnc Plus. The sound is fine and the picture quality is good BUT the movie doesn't flow like it should. It seems to skip a couple of frames every 2 seconds or so.. and after a while it makes your eyes go funny. So anyway -- I gave up with TMPGEnc and started using Cucusoft AVI to VCD DVD. Exactly the same thing but this time a lot smoother.
I know when you convert an avi file you loose a lot of quality which I don't mind but this is SO much more annoying!!
Has anyone got a solution for this?
I was thinking of using DVD2SVCD with CCE.
Please help!!
Thank you -- Marie

and are you on PAL land or NTSC ?
if your player plays NTSC only that is the problem. cause the source is PAL.

what you need to do is finding the guide PAL to NTSC :)

PAL format.
Do you know what is causing the problem?

Oh! Also forgot to mention.
I check the converted movie before writing them to DVD. So I'm playing them on my PC not my dvd player. I have written one to dvd but the same problem occurs.

Hello - open the AVI in VirtualDub and check
file/information. Take note of the framerate.

Ensure that the template in TMPGEnc has a similar F/R.

If the problem still occurs, try deselecting
avi(opendml) in TMPGEnc environment.
