Lately I've been having problems with my burned DVD's. When I play them back I get horrible picture distortion and other times it just gets stuck in the same place and I have to eject it. For the first few mon ths I had my burner everything was fine. Now when I burn a video I have to cross my fingers because sometimes they come out fine and other times they don't. Anyone have any advice?

I have a LITEON DVD-/+R/RW

and as far as media I am not really loyal to one brand I get probelms with any brand I buy. I recently bought some Sony DVD+R. I have only used - in the past, I want to see if that was the problem.

Hi,

Have you updated the firmware for your drive? Newer firmwares help media compatibility and performance with said media. Here's a link and be sure to follow the instructions exactly and get the firmware for your exact model drive:

Using quality media can go a long way towards good results so I'd suggest looking into some of the good stuff such as Ritek G04/05, Verbatim Metal AZO, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden. The Ritek G04 is by far the best deal going.
