Comcast has announced today that most of their ISP customers now have a data cap beginning on November 1st - 1TB per month.
Thanks to their "Xfinity Terabyte Internet Data Usage Plan," you are now capped at 1TB of bandwidth per month, regardless of the speed of your connection. If you absolutely need more than that, $50 per month extra gets you true unlimited.

Not really, do the math and that is a sustained 373KBPS or about 3mbps in a 31 day month. Even the bottom end comcast is generally faster than that. Even people who don't do torrents could break the limit if they are streaming a lot or doing offsite backups of larger storage devices.

AT&T upped it to 1TB, at least for uVerse...that would be the same except that unlimited is $30 extra instead of $50.
Not to talk up AT&T or anything...they are crooks; they even openly admit to monopolistic business practices (they actually brag about the fact that they block competitors by paying bribes)...but Comcast has managed to do worse.
Prepping you for cell phone model pay per usage. Gotta love government enforced monopolies. Let's these guys charge you more while their costs decrease because the government doesn't allow competition, just so some jackwagon can get campaing fund contributions and his nephew can get no bid contracts.
You know what is funny i wonder what happens when they learn they are going to have a problem with this and a lawsuit following from Bitcoin you can't use your data miner with a bandwidth cap and the only reason comcast put this in place was to keep from having to update there equipment for another year see what really sucks is the illegal practices that comcast does and because there EX-CEo if the head of the federal communications board he keeps passing laws that help comcast and he gets taxs breaks from it.
