6.2 inches and only 720P??? I know Nintendo likes to be a generation behind, but that's at least 3 generations when talking about mobile device resolutions.

Lol, this device is by Nintendo, there will be no Android on the system. And 720p for a 6.2 inch is just fine. You still want to make the thing affordable.
