I'm sure that this has been asked before but I could not see it in the forum.
I am using dvd2svcd program with tmpgenc encoder. When I encode avi to svcd it does not combine the audieo with the video.
What I am saying is when I take the avi file & try to encode it to mpeg2 when it is done I get no audio with the video. I have been using dvd2svcd for about 2 years you would think I would of tried this step by now or know some thing about it. nope not this time.
if any one know of any other easyer program or how to avi 2 svcd with dvd2svcd then would be great if you could post some that might help me out.
did you convert the audio from the AVI to wav?? even tho ive never used DVD2SVCD i know that TMPGEnc has a problem converting compressed audio so that would be your best bet.

I don't think that is the problem. I get the mpeg files I need I just don't get sound off the mpeg files. I do feel it has to do with a setting in DVD2SVCD. I have tried almost everything. Unless there is a setting in tmpge I have to correct. I do know the default on tmpge is set to mix audio with video. So I don't think the problem is there. I am just hoping someone else has had this same problem & post but
tmpgenc doesnt like compressed audio(mp3,AC3 ect ect), so you have to convert to wav, its a common problem with TMPGEnc, i know of other encoders which have the exact same problem. so the only way to remedy the problem is to use vdub to convert the audio to wav(or i can give you a link to a simple yet very effective audio decompressor). if your source is AC3 tho, there is a plug-in of sorts which lets you encode AC3 audio directly from TMPGEnc without converting the audio to wav first. just install this little prog and your all set http://fcchandler.home.comcast.net/AC3ACM/AC3ACM.zip

I'm new here and I've tried a few programs, but most of the videos I have are AVIs, but I can't seem to find something to convert them to VCD files. What should I get and will I be able to get a 700Mb AVI onto a disk as VCD?
