backs up to a UDF FILE?? SOMEONE HELP ME!!

ive been using imation/tdk dvd+r's for a while and i;ve never had a problem copying dvd's and what not...
none the less since i've bought these "el cheapo" dvd+r's some of the dvd's ive backed up have strangely backed themselves up as a "UDF" FILE!!!they play fine on my pc , but not on my stand alone DVD player!!!(plays DVD+ AND - R/RW , VCD/SVC AND ALL THE LIKE)

WHAT AM i doing wrong and how do i stop it from turning it into a UDF FILE???

YOUR HELP IN FIXING THIS PROBLEM WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED....JOE!! :-)

Think you have answered your own question - stick with quality media - el cheapo media - el cheapo results.
