OK, I searched the forums and failed to find the answer to this question...if I missed it my apologies. I want to copy a couple of disks and maintain the full size of the movie. DVDXCopy would allow me to do this. Granted I have to switch disks in the middle but that is something I am willing to do. I have found that a lot of old B&W movies do not shrink well and I loose resolution. Since DVDXCopy is fraught with problems (I hate using it) I want to know if there is another software that would allow you to break a movie into two disks. DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink work fine (if I had only known...I wouldn't have bought DVDXCopy) but I haven't found the tool/option that allows creation of a second disk. Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi retro 41,

You can use Shrink if you don't mind loosing the menu.

Open Shrink and let it analyze.

Select re-author.

Drag the main title into the compilation window.

Open the start/end, chapter select feature.(The opposing arrows above the compilation window.)

Using the sliders and the chapters drop-down menu, select the first half of the chapters.

Burn your first half.

Repeat the process for the second disc, selecting the second half of the chapters.

Heres a guide using Shrink 2.3, it is the same principal:

You should probably put in an "insert disc 2" clip at the end of disc 1. Just use one of these and drag it into your compilation:

Cheers,
Frank
