Ritek M02?

I have noticed Ritek has been changing their packaging away from bulk wrapped packs to retail ready cake boxes on some of the disc lines-the new Ritek "branded" and matte finish unbranded. I purchased some of the new retail unbranded cakeboxed RiData 4x DVD-R discs recently and noticed they are now different-the dye is a little more blueish (less purple) and the disc construction is slightly different. I also noticed that the media code is "RITEK M02". They still burn and play exactly like the G04 discs, so I am wondering-is there any difference? It seems they're a more polished product-the disc edges are now smooth whereas they used to be rough. I am about to switch to G05 8x media, so it probably doesn't matter, but it is a curiosity of mine.

Quite interesting. I've never heard of that media code until you posted it. I don't quite know what the difference is between the M02 and G04 is.

I found this link that may be of interest to you. It seems it's a legitimate Ritek code and the reports are very favorable.
