Nintendo to launch the SNES Classic later this year

article published on 26 June, 2017

Nintendo of America has confirmed that it will launch the SNES Classic this year with two controllers and 21 built-in games. Talking about squeezing every last nickel and penny out of these retro consoles. Funny thing is, it just might be another big seller for those who have no idea about emulation and soft mods.

There are a ton of people who just want to play games... some people just want to relive the 90's without wanting to tinker with mods / emulators / Rasberry Pi's etc.

I for one am tempted for SF2 and the Mario games for my kids

Plus, not everyone knows about emulators. Just like the NES Classic, this is a great deal at under $4 per game and they're some of the very best games that ever came out for the SNES. The best part of this is that it gives the younger generation a chance to play these classic games.

When you say emulators, are you talking about how you can play these games on a PC online, or something different? I'm a little disappointed they raised the price from the NES classic, but it's still more than worth it for the controllers and SF2. There's nostalgia in the form factor as well. I wouldn't mind owning one myself. I'll add it to my Christmas list. hehe
