Market research company IDC has posted new figures for mobile platforms and smartphone vendors. Figures representing the first quarter of 2017 reveal a story of a nearly perfect duopoly. Can you imagine what would have happened if apple would have decided to be a more open platform from the beginning. They had such a large lead. I hope in the future companies take notice.

Apple did have a pretty open platform in the beginning. Then they released the Macintosh and things started going downhill...
