Xbox One X pre-orders open, 130 titles now enhanced for new console

article published on 20 September, 2017

You can now pre-order for the Xbox One X console ahead of its launch this holiday season, and Microsoft has expanded the list of titles that are enhanced for its upgrade. Pre-orders of the Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition kicked off in August and produced record setting sell-outs in the first five days. Now, gamers can pre-order the standard edition Xbox One X from local retailers around ... [ read the full article ]

What a waste of money!

4K gaming and 4K in general are gimmicky...even if not intentionally like 3D.

4K is what theatres display in since screens are so big. BUT, average viewer sits 8-10 feet away from TV and not 30 feet like a theatre.

The ONLY tangible improvement on this money grubbing redundant console is 4K.......and frankly, who F'ing cares!

Difference at 10 feet between 1080P and 4K is negligible at best.

Actually, many theaters use the original 2K (2048x1080) standard, still, instead of 4K (4096x2160). Many older and/or smaller cinemas simply don't need and/or simply can't afford the higher resolution. But otherwise, I completely agree.

Sit a bit closer to a 4K TV mate. The picture quality on both my 55 inch HDR 4K Samsung 9000 series TV's are considerably better than 1080p, but then I have my TV 5ft 6 from my couch. I am also guessing you have not actually seen a genuine HDR 4K Source, like Lucy, or Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk? As A lot of so called 4K source is up-scaled anyway, even the 4K Blu ray discs. When you have seen 60fps genuine 4K source, then make a comment. So many people who slate 4K have not actually seen genuine 60fps true 4K and it is not even in it's final form yet. Also the Dolby Atmos sound set up I have, with my couch a bit away from the wall behind helps to enhance the whole experience more. If your TV is too far away to notice then bring the couch forward, or go and have your eyesight checked as loads of people have age related or inherited macular degeneration and have no idea. Everyone should have their eyes tested regularly, especially if you have glaucoma in your family's history.
