You might be pushing it to fit that much on a dvd. There are file compressors out there but most of them only reduce the file size by about 10%.
Do a search for file compressors see what you find but i think you might have to split the files up if you can. I face this issue everyday. I never thought id say this, but 4.7GB isnt nearly enough..... I remeber paying $1000 for 20Mb....
hope this helps

The program you are looking for is DVD2OneX. It will get the job done. When you set your compression, I have to set it to 4350 in order to get in under the limit to burn it. I haven't had a problem with it.

I can't tell you how well DVD2OneX works, I use DVDRemaster, and it works wonders, I regularly compress huge DVDs to 4.36 Gigs with little if any detectable loss in quality

I used to use DVD2OneX, but started having problems with
the compressed file it makes. The newer DVD's seems to give
it trouble and it results in DVD backups that skip erratically.
I've since switched to DVDRemaster and have not had any bad
backups. The best $40 I've spent on a shareware app, it paid
for itself after three backups. For both programs, you just
have to get rid of any extra audio tracks to make sure you get
the best video quality possible, I usually remove any non-
English tracks and set the target size to 4300MB
