DivX 2 DVD versus DVD Santa?

I have just bought this product from PC World, its supposed to be simple to work but I cannot make sense of it. I have had several goes and I am getting nowhere. It keeps saying disc full when I know it is a brand new disc, not enough room on disc. When it does tell you that the disc has been created succesfully, it will not play or there is nothing on the disc. I gave used the same file with DVD Santa and that was perfect. I have an sent an email to the support but have recieved nothing back yet. I will be going for a refund on Saturday so when I do can anyone recommend any other good software or should I purchase DVD Santa which was very easy to use.
