Amazon is constantly trying to come up with new ways to sell and deliver you products whether its acquiring Whole Foods, trying to perfect drone delivery, or prototyping stores without lines or checkouts with Amazon Go.
Now Amazon has come up with a new concept that gets rid of the package theft problem some portion of Prime members struggle with. Amazon Key allows the delivery man (or ... [ read the full article ]

Anyone patronizing this is a true blue common-senseless IDIOT!
And anyone saying "well Amazon is liable and if anyone does anything nefarious blah blah blah..."
Oh man, anyone thinking like this needs to be punched in the brain. Remember; The corporations have a tough time with rogue employees as is and that is WITHOUT this type of temptation. Dipping into anyone's house as a regular practice is the worst f*cking idea I've heard in a while.
The general public cannot be trusted explicitly or implicitly.........PERIOD! Contrary to this belief is brutal naivete.
Haha. Love the comments. What's to stop the delivery guy from tipping off one of his friends that might do bad things?. I agree this is absolutely 100% incredibly stupid

Well shit! didn't really think of that. I was centered around the "insider" schmucks only.
This is a VERY VERY VERY VERY likely scenario. Anyone trying to hide their tracks will certainly go this route.
The real problem here, is now someone can hack your door lock, whether or not the real delivery people are in on it. It's a similar problem to "master keys" for standard locks, which make them very easy to pick.

Ugh! Thanks for the realization.
haha, sorry. It's essentially the "criss cross" scheme, made famous by Hitchcock, and "Throw Momma From the Train".
@Bozobub, Tris is true. I was debating this very thing re: the keypad door locks. Then I thought, if someone really wanted to get in, a deadbolt is not going to stop them either.
Nothing will stop a truly determined, skilled person who wants to get in. What you can do, however, is make it as difficult and/or OBVIOUS as possible.
Remember, a brick through a window is also effective, but it is *noisy* and it will be obvious a crime is in process (or just happened). Not ideal, from most perps' viewpoint.
