WSJ: New iPhone 8 sales disappointing, pressure on iPhone X

article published on 27 October, 2017

Apple's iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus have been available for over a month but sales might have not been what Apple wanted. According to Customer Intelligence Research Partners, a consumer research company, Apple's new iPhones are far behind last years models. CIRP told Wall Street Journal that iPhone 8 and 8 Plus have accounted for only 16% of iPhone sales in the quarter ending in September. ... [ read the full article ]

The reason is because half of the Apple crowd is waiting for the X. If the X wasn't coming out, they would have all bought the Iphone that already came out.

Add to the expensive pricetag by itself, BestBuy and most others are tacking 100 bucks on for greedy reasons. Because they offer other "services". WTF! Just because you sell Verizon, Sprint, ATT and the others doesn't justify an increase of an already highly priced phone just for the sake of it.

Nothing like popping 1249.00 for a phone that you'll want to replace on a stupid ass "jump program" in 18 months or 1249.00 for a phone that you want to get as much life from as possible only to have to ditch the entire unit because the battery has lost ability to take/keep a charge after a whopping 3 years. That's only 400 dollars a year for phone rental.

Ugh.........you cell phone users are being screwed. And it's to all your faces which is the worst part 'cause most just take it lying down.

And to add insult to injury, I'm seeing that Apple is making up for those not wanting the 8 and preferring to skip right to the X by enforcing the upgrade policy from those with a 7. They in turn MUST go to the 8 next on any "Jump" or "next" program and cannot opt for the X.

18 month/80% cellular upgrade programs are geared for those without a single solitary clue. Perpetual rental! FOREVER AND EVER!

Which is why Android and the capacity to root your phone is so nice.
