I'm basically looking for a quick and cheap solution to hook up my PC (which ONLY has 2x DVI ports in the back) to my old standard definition TV. I have a receiver that has s-video and RCA support.

What would be the cheapest way to do DVI to s-video or just a yellow video cable? Thanks!

You can get a DVI to VGA adapter for cheap (you probably already have one). From there, the conversion is easy:

There's about 20 reviews saying that doesn't work at all... I don't know if they just don't know what they're talking about or what.

I found this, is it possible to have a component cables on one end go into the yellow video cable on the other end?

The reviews on newegg were almost all from people that were trying to use it as an input (VGA is never an input, except on some very high-end cards)

You can get a component to composite adapter, but at that point, you are spending more for less quality. You can also get a component to S-Video adapter...this will still cost more, but should give you slightly better quality than the VGA to composite adapter.

Ok, so here's what I bought.

http://www.monoprice.com/products/produc...&seq=1&format=2 for sound, works great.

http://www.monoprice.com/products/produc...&seq=1&format=2 Just your standard RCA cable.

http://www.monoprice.com/products/produc...&seq=1&format=2 for the VGA->Video

Unfortunately I think the VGA->S-Video/RCA is only an adapter, not a converter, and my videocard doesn't support that?

My computer detects an analog device, even lets me set the resolution and color and everything, as it should work, but all I get is a dark screen on my TV. You can see some staticy lines going up.

Monoprice says that I have to buy this; http://www.monoprice.com/products/produc...&seq=1&format=2 Which kind of sucks because it's more expensive, and I already spent the 13$ on this worthless junk :(

I'm retarded... I didn't see the S-video out on my graphics card, I just used this cable I found at work to convert it into normal video. Works flawlessly now.
