DVD player no signal via amp connection?

Hdmi to tv from DVD player all is fine.

For some reason Hdmi to amp then to tv produces a signal not found message.

Have swapped the cables and connections to no avail.

Seems like the signal from the DVD player isn't being processed or found by the amp

Any ideas?

It was working until recently.
