It's our second TV, so I didn't need features. Our primary TV is the 46" Series 6, which is 120Hz and has 4 HDMI and 3 component, as well as internet access. Right now this TV is available open box for right around $999.00.
If I lived in Albuquerque, I probably wouldn't have the selection.
$1000.00 is a pretty good budget for 42", but in the 46" range you're looking at a third tier brand.
Right now (2/1/2010) Costco has the 46" Sceptre 120Hz, 4 HDMI (3rd tier brand) for $699.00 with free shipping. Everything else is $1199.00 or above.
I live in Southeast Michigan (Detroit Area). The features I am looking for isn't that much. I will be using if for watching movies on my Blue Ray player, playing my Wii, and watching sports. I will be wall mounting it. I just want the best looking picture that this price range can buy. Thank you
Well, that doesn't make it any easier to recommend. As economically depressed as the Detroit area is, I'm sure that there are stores willing to deal.
If you have nothing to compare it to, a third tier TV will probably suit you just fine. However, put them side by side and you can tell the difference.
Based on what you have described as your needs, the Sceptre should be a good match for you.
If you're on the lookout for a new television, you must do some research by reading the reviews especially the ones coming from the experts and compare LCD TV ratings of various brands. That way, you are assured that you will be getting the best value for your purchase. Just my 2 cents.

i had a look on some websites at reviews and they only had sony, panasonic and samsung.Im in australia and samsung, sony & panasonic are very expensive.been trying to find a new lcd tv myself for under $1000 and from what ive seen the cheaper ones have bad picture quality(you can litrally see every little pixel).if you want the best picture quality you might need to spend a bit more.In the long term it might be worth it.
