Hi All,
I'm thinking of getting a static IP from my ISP and setting up my router to hit my Dbox's IP so that I see the YWeb page when I open my static IP in my browser. I'm thinking that this would allow me to access my Dbox and stream TV to my PC over the Internet, regardless of where I am.
Streaming from yWeb works fine within my LAN but just wondering what the performance would be like over the Internet. It'd be nice to be able to watch the footie at the weekends when I'm not at home.
Has anyone tried this? Is it a stupid idea? Are there better ways to do it? I'm using Ubuntu mostly so Neutrino TV or similar applications aren't really a runner for me (and would they even work outside my LAN?)
Thanks in advance for any thoughts or suggestions,
Chucky
