HR24-500 RUNNING COLD

I found a Direct TV DVR HR24-500 box and when I hooked it up I am getting a message that the box is running below temperature. The box is reading at 32F and I cannot get it warm up. I have a towel around the box to keep anykind of heat in. Has anyone ever experienced this or does anyone know how to work on these boxes?
