Motorola DVR DCT6412 Ethernet - Can it be use to connect Xbox 360?

Hi everyone - I have the following situation and would appreciate some help.

I live in an apartment that has two floors.

In the second floor, I have my computer, with the modem and wireless router. The mode is a Motorola router that gets its signal from a coaxial cable provided by RCN (a cable company similar to Comcast). Everything works fine, except that I get a relatively weak signal downstairs.

In the first floor I have a TV, a Motorola DVR DCT6412 cable box, and an Xbox 360.

I want to connect my xbox 360 to the internet, so I can watch netflix movies. However, I do not want to spend almost $200 buying a better router (the router I have upstairs is a wireless G and provides a pretty weak signal downstairs) and a wireless adapter.

So what are my options?

Can I use the Motorola DVR as a modem, since it states in the features that it has a modem?

Are the coaxial cables use for either cable TV or internet, or can a single cable provide both?

What is my best option in terms of quality of signal and price?
