SA 8300 PVR(DVR) RF Output Active when powered down?

When the unit is powered down the RF output shuts down as well. There is no signal passed thru as you would get in a VCR. Is there anyway to keep the outputs active especially the RF out? I've heard that there is a setup function in some models that allow on/off switching of this RF output BUT I haven't found it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanx
