Hi everyone. I am fairly new with the Tivo Decoder, but I was using it with zero problems for a couple weeks before this problem started happening.
I transfer the files from the Tivo to my pc at home, put them on a USB drive, then Decode them at work on my work PC. When I view the folder that has the decoded video files in it, I get a Windows Explorer error message that reads "Windosw Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I select "Send Error Report", and it gives me a link to a page that says there is a problem with PowerDVD. Here's the link: http://wer.microsoft.com/responses/Respo...45-b5bf9f7c196a
I'm guessing this doesn't actually have anything to do with PowerDVD, because I can't even find it installed on my computer. And this also just started happening, so if there was a problem with PowerDVD, it should have been happening all along. I don't get the same error when I'm at home, so it's probably something on my crappy work computer, but I can't figure out what it is.
I have tried decoding them at home before bringing them to work, but that didn't help. I've also cleaned off my USB drive and formatted it, but that didn't help either. It will give the error whether I'm looking at the folder while it's on my USB drive or on the PC after transferring the files. Anybody have any clues? If this is better suited to a pc thread, please feel free to move it. Just thought somebody here might have had this happen before also.
I'm running Windows XP Pro on my home and work computers.
