Toshiba DVD Recorder freezes

Hi all.

Over recent weeks my 4 yr old Toshiba XS24 DVD recorder/player is playing up so much I'm about to chuck it out.

It will not record from TV, or should I say, it records a few minutes then the picture freezes and the display clock stops with it.

I have to do a hard reset to 'reboot' it.

When playing DVDs, it will play but when I stop it, I have to restart it again before another disc will work.

I've taken the top off and given it a blow out with compressed air but it wasn't that dusty anyway. I thought that it may have been an overheating problem but apparently not?

Does anyone have any suggestions or is it ready to go in the bin?

Thanks in advance

She's going down to the devil, down down to 90 degrees.
