Hi,

Is there some software that can RIP extra subtitles or force some subtittle language to dvd rip when playing it.

I have a television with a network connection and I have tried to rip a dvd movie to a hard drive. When watching it from a computer it's ok and I can choose subtittles etc. but there's no way to do that selection from Tv. So the subtitles needs to be forced on and to a certain language.

I hope there's someone that can guide me with this :).

I assume you now have a VIDEO_TS folder containing the IFO,VOB files etc.

Normally the playback device has control of the subtitles (and which subtitle language will be played if subtitles are 'on' in the device setup.
If subtitles are not turned on in the device setup, then any forced subs are still displayed automatically on playback (as long as they are the same as the audio that has been selected in the setup of the playback device).
So a playback device which had English as the disk playback language and English as the disk Subtitle language will play 'forced subs' even if they are not selected in the device setup.

I'm only going into this excruciating detail because I don't know what a network TV can provide by way of support to DVD movies.

Anyhoo, if it will respond to the 'forced' flag in the movie, then you can set a subtitle track to 'forced' using DVDSubEdit.
The steps are:
File > Open full domain (select a VOB of the main movie)
On the top-right of the screen, 'Subpic selection' select the subtitle that you want to force (from the drop menu).
On lower-right 'Start command' set the stream to 'Forced'.

Click 'Edit' > 'Apply last modifications to all'

Click 'File' > 'Save all modifications'.
