I have a video that I downloaded that I thought was NTSC format. When I burned theVideo TS folder with Toast on my G5 Macintosh and it plays fine on my computer.

However when put in my DVD player it gives me "Cannot play this disk." The only reason I can think I might be getting this message is if it is a PAL format disk.

My question is this simple. Is there a way to identify what format a video is Pal or NTSC?

Thanks in advance for the response. On my G5 dual 2GHZ Power PC I have had no luck converting Pal to NTSC.

Know nothing of Mac but I think the Get info setting in VLC might show. PAL is 25.00 fps (720 x 576), NTSC is 23.97 or 29.97 (or close to that)(720 x 480). The best way I've found of changing either PAL or NTSC is to encode to what you want but the quality will lessen so it has to be good quality to start. I only change DVDR and see no difference on a 51" TV using ConvertXtoDVD. It's said VobBlanker (video attribute's) will change region's but I don't know if it work's on Mac and never has for me anyway.
