I recently copied some VHS tapes I own to DVD. Though in the process I wasn't able to stop copying exactly when I wanted and got some extra things on each video. Also, the menus are bland compared to a menu I could make. My problem is that I made the DVDs able to store more than the average 4.7GB DVD and now none of my rippers will recognize anything pas the second episode of each disk. (It's three episodes on the first three disks, and four on the last one.)
Does Windows Explorer see the files (in the VIDEO_TS folder) on the disk?
If so drag it onto the desktop and see if DVD Shrink can open it.
You can try and shrink it to 4.3GB or 'Re-author' the episodes to separate titles.
Thanks for the input. I tried that, but it says that my second VOB has incorrect data in it, and it won't open the DVD either... This might be a difficult project...
I think I might have found a solution though. I ripped the VOBs as mentioned above, renamed them as .mpg, used "MPEG Joiner", to make a single MPG, and it plays all three episodes in VLC. Now all I need to do is de-interlace, smooth, and split the episodes. Any suggestions?
Well, It's kind of being fixed. I tried HandBrake to fix it but it would take over 6 hours to complete, so I'm still on the lookout for a editor or a different ripper, whichever one would be easier. I'll look into the two above and see how it works out.
