whats some good programs to use to rip dvds to xvid ive used handbrake im looking other options..what do scene groups use to rip?..any other recommendations please post what you think is good im looking for something that isnt the most complicated but doesnt have to be dumbed down either and rips in a timely matter and doesnt take 8 hours or something per rip

I use either handbrake or autogk. I use the double pass on autogk, which takes around 3hrs to complete. Time is also based on single/double pass, your system specs, multi-tasking, etc.

Better encoding and quality. Single pass may still have small glitches in it which normally can be fixed with a double pass.

That program is stated as converting to dvd compliant....not the other way around as the OP has asked.

Not so. I always use single pass with a constant quantizer. As an example a single pass using quantizer 2 will always look better than a 2 pass using quantizer 3.
