Hi all,

I've read the various threads and FAQs and I think I'm getting myself more confused. Let me start out by saying I've very new at this. I have been ripping DVDs for years using a variety of software packages and it works just fine. Now I want to convert AVI files to DVD and am having issues. I tried Sothink movie DVD maker on a Saw V AVI file and except for the upfront screen because it wasn't paid for software, it worked fine. Then I did Seven Pounds and I got text like closed captioning at the bottom of the screen and then 16x9 format looked like it had much bigger black bars on my screen (a 4x3 TV) than a regular wide screen. So I then tried DVD Flick (1.3.0.7). Text is gone, black bars still look big but my audio is way ahead of video.

I want something simple. DL AVI, convert and burn (preferably all in one). What would you suggest? Maybe there's an easy answer to fix the software I already have but I'd be willing to look at something else too. I don't plan to need to put multiple AVIs together etc etc.
