Ripped DVDs on HD but taking up too much space

Not sure if this is possible in what I am trying to accomplish but here goes. I have the movie ripped via AnyDVD and I want to store them on a external HD and view them through PowerDVD. What I am trying to accomplish is cutting down on physical media as well as a small file size but keep everything intact without losing special features or most importantly, picture quality. Thanks for any help in the matter.

Open the ripped folder with DVD shrink and 'Backup' to a folder on the external drive.
The default file size for a DVD shrink backup is ~4.3GB
