Ive always ripped dvds with shrink and region+css or anydvd and on my old 21inch crt tv..they looked great. Well recently ive got a 32inch 1080p lcd tv, and tried to rip fast and furious and i love you man..with NO compression, as they will be played back from my HD. And the playback Studders for lack of a better word. It will play fine but every 8-10 mins..it will be choppy or studder for a second. Am i correct to assume that in using dvd shrink with NO compression...this would be a "Lossless" format? Ive replayed the parts where it studders over 15x and its always in the same place so i know it has to be the rip...and not a slowing of my computer system. I also just tried a old dvd i burned the same way...but like 5 years ago..and it seemed to play fine, but maybe this is due to the file being compressed in shrink so the quality isnt as good..so i just dont see it?
What program is my best option for ripping, with NO compression and haveing the highest quality rip?
Thanks for your time.

A rip with no compression is a copy.
I don't use AnyDVD, can that program rip the disk to the HDD by itself?
Or use the free version of DVDFab HD Decrypter (I think you turn off AnyDVD when using it) and compare the results to DVD Shrink.

ANYDVD Does Come With A Ripper. This is what I Use, Now. So Far It Only Does The Whole Disc. I Then use Shrink in Re-author mode to do just the Main Movie.
Your Problem Might Not be Compression, But Speed and Media Quality.
Try Using Verbatim Brand and Burn at 1/2 the Rated Speed of the Media.

All my media is Taio Yudens (probably spelled wrong), and i always burn at 8x. But as mentioned...im trying to backup with NO compression to Hard Drive, where it will stay permenatly. On a Sata drive with 3gb/transfer rate.

If You Only Want the Main Movie on Your HDD, Without Burning to Disc,
Rip it With AnyDVD Ripper, Then Open That Up In Shrink And In Shrinks Preferences, Change the Target Size to DVD-9. Then Just Re-athor and Create An ISO File. That Should Get you a NO COMPRESSION Movie File.
Choppyness May Be Due To Lack Of Memory. (If You Are Playing it on your Comp)

I really appreciate everyones help. :)
As far as memory, i do have 2gb..which i know isnt a ton but i think it would be enough. I have tried playing the movie file after a fresh reboot. And ended all my TSR's. Still same choppyness...in the same part of the movie. Which again after playing the movie file 20x now...and it always being in the same spot, points to somthing in the actually movie file.
I have then also taken that same movie file, uncompressed(it was under 4gb and burned it to a dvd+r. And no matter if i play that disc in my computer, or my ps3, it is still choppy in the same spot. Although the difference is that its not "blocky squares" choppy, its as though the disc pauses for a brief second and then resumes.
I played a older dvd that was backed up probably 4 years ago or so...and i didnt notice any choppyness in it, while watching it for 20 minutes or so However i have no idea how much it was compressed(if at all) So i dont know if maybe compressing the movie makes it lose enough quality that it actually plays faster (smoother) but at a lower quality. If that makes any sense.
I started keeping the differnt rip method files on my computer so i could compare them. Tomorrow i will try using dvdfab. And see how it does.
Thanks again for everyones time and help.
