1.65v DDR3 Memory on 1.5v Board

I'm considering an Intel DP45SG mobo that calls for DDR3 memory at 1.5v, but it also says that higher voltage is optional for high-performance DIMMs.
Can I just plug 1.65v DDR3 DIMMs into the board and will the board auto-configure for them or is there some BIOS or other change I have to make for the higher voltage?
Will 1.65v DIMMs work if they are only given 1.5v?

My apologies to you. I did not thoroughly check my answer and couldn't find anything specific so I have withdrawn my post until I can verify the accuracy of the information.
Intel's website did not address your question in specific terms, and only generally alluded to the fact that the memory voltage was adjustable in the BIOS.

I apologize, I will check first with each manufacturer's website. From your inference it appears to be adjustable with a BIOS setting. I have no aversion to RTFM if I can be pointed to the correct M.

According to everything that I have read, 1.65v RAM will run with 1.5v, but may not run at it's highest speed.

MCH Voltage Override
? Default
? 1.525V
? 1.600V
? 1.625V
? 1.725V
Allows you to set the MCH V_CORE voltage.
Warning: This setting is intended for validation and test
purposes only. Altering clock frequencies may reduce system
stability and/or the useful life of the system and processor.
Operation at settings beyond component specification is not
covered by Intel component warranties. If any problems occur
during operation at non-default settings, reset the board to
default values.

Is this "MCH V_CORE" voltage what we've been talking about or something else?

I believe that this is CPU core voltage, not RAM voltage. I will take a look at the manual or if I can my hands on one of those boards, I'll let you know.

According to the Intel web site, MCH = Memory Controller Hub. The voltages I listed above seem to fit. I wonder....
