hi, i recently been given a pc from my parents which was using ide hardrives, as my pc was usind sata i thought id just swap them over and it should work fine? the sata ports are onboard and are enabled in the bios menu, and they are getting power as they boot up but i get boot disk failure message, anybody know why?
secondly id like to know if there is any decent 12v power sources inside my pc case for led's i dont mind if i gotta solder etc.
any help is most appreciated. thanks Tez

iv sorted the lights they where 12v srtip lights, the hdd is a sata using onboard with windows 7 os on it, it booted up my pc fine so i tried to put it in my new pc as a master hdd and it will not recognise the drive at all?
well instead of using all their bits, i decided id just change the motherboards around as the case is smaller and smarter, iv done this and now my hdd will not show with my MB, but theirs will? im really blagged lol, i upgraded to windows 7 and now a got another problem, my sound is there it says i have no headphones or speakers plugged in even tho it was working fine before swapping MB's
