so im not sure if this is the right place for it, but i really dont know where to post this and i also know this has been asked a ton of times, but ive not been able to read anything helpful for my purposes anywhere.
what ive got is a 7inch lcd screen from a portable dvd player that my friend had and the laser burnt out so he gave me the screen, only the screen and the little bit of pcb attached to it.
what im trying to do is take this screen and make some kind of vga or dvi input for it so i can use it for a monitor or carputer
front of the pcb bit:
on the back of the pcb thing theres like a little screw im assuming for adjustment of the backlight but im not sure really
some of the serial number stuff:
the first(middle of the cord) connector:
end connector:
middle connector again:
if there's anything i left out or any other pictures needed i can take them asap and any help at all would be wonderful, thanks
You may be able to find a driver board for it somewhere, but there is an issue with that (other than the issue of finding one). That screen has a very low resolution (480×234)...so even if you were to connect it to a DVI, VGA, or HDMI signal, it would still look very bad...assuming it displayed the image at all. You can get 640x480 and 800x600 screens cheap...I would not recommend spending any money on that old screen
i didnt even think about the issue of low resolution, i also have 2 laptop screens that i have and ive got the space in the car for one, but it wasnt really what i was going for.
seeing as im broke im trying to pull this off by spending the least amount i can and other than the screen and software i think ive got everything else covered
@ddp: i briefly saw that thread but didnt read that much of it since i saw it was from 2004, but i now see how long it is, so i guess im gonna have to tough it out and read it all and hope it helps because as far as i had read, it didnt help me much
