I want to get some more ram for my PC, here's the specs according to Crucial.

# Maximum Memory Capacity: 2048MB
# Currently Installed Memory: 512MB
# Available Memory Slots: 1
# Total Memory Slots: 2
# Dual Channel Support: Yes
# CPU Manufacturer: GenuineIntel
# CPU Family: Intel(R) Celeron(R) D CPU 3.20GHz Model 6, Stepping 4
# CPU Speed: 3200 MHz

i want to know if the following is reliable or compatible, if u could grace me w/ the knowledge :)


PNY - 2-Pack 1GB PC2-5300 DDR2 Memory


or if there is a better place to purchase from? (its actually going on my Xmas list, but i still want to keep it under $75 or so, and somewhere that's not going to be a scam.

hmm i'm hoping for something stateside.

are there any brands to avoid? or brands w/ optimal lifespan/quality?

its been ages since i've bought parts. (like 10yrs)

looks like the mobo maxes out at 2gigs. and don't get any of the memory i recommended above; it doesn't boot on your mobo.

according to the reviewer. i've even tried this on a laptop; tried 800mhz on an older toshiba which accepted DDR2, didn't even boot at all. tried 667mhz and booted right up.
