ATI vs NVIDIA - DX11 vs PhysX

I have a bad problem on deciding what graphics card to get to my laptop...

There's 2 options(same price): GeForce GTX 285m, and ATI M.R. HD 5870 (GDDR5).

Now ofcourse i'd choose Nvidia because they have better support and i trust them more, but the problem is that the ATI card is DX11 compatible and most likely more powerful.

I really like the effects of both, PhysX and DX11, so i can't decide which is more important... I guess DX11 because Physx is Nvidia-only so many games might not support it.
But then again i think PhysX effects look better than DX11 effects.

The only instant solution is that Nvidia comes up with a DX11 compatible card which is comparable to 285m. In February.

Also, does ATI have any disadvantages over Nvidia? like overheating? lifetime?
