My motherboard is a x48-DS5

Everytime I get a new computer I try and overclock but I am not very good so what I end up doing is increasing the cpu clock until I get nasty side affects.

I Recently got this motherboard installed and I now want to overclock it so I go into the BIOS and enable "CPU Host Clock Control" so I can mess around with "CPU Host Frequency(Mhz)". I then hit the save and exit key and return to windows but when I look at the system settings my CPU frequency has not changed as according to windows. When I load up the BIOS after checking windows I see that the "CPU Host Clock Control" is disabled but the "CPU Host Frequency(Mhz)" is what I set it to after overclocking.
