Hi guys,
was wondering if you guys knew why a PC would only stay on for a few seconds.
my PC was working fine, one night it turned on by itself so i got up and turned it off.
now it doesn't stay on.

i have an:

Since i'm not a comp technician of any sort i'd look at the basics, apart from what's below
i can't help much further
power supply - is it failing
check for incorrectly seating wires
check RAM modules
Check your cooling system for leaks

Yes i was talking to a friend about it and he said it could be the PSU (since it's some what "generic"?)

i've checked the A50 several times, it works fine.
ram is installed correctly.
i didn't change anything before and after the malfunction.
thank you i will try and replace the PSU and see if that works

is now as i've moved it to correct forum.

EzCeazy, check the silver flat top cans on the motherboard that none are domed or leaking brown stuff. disconnect all cables to drives. if have onboard video then remove Visiontek videocard. try 1 stick of ram at a time into each slot.

asrock.. defo bad caps.. I spent a while fixing these entry level crap boards.. the MAIN culprit is the under rated 3.2v cap on the agp line.
