The last couple times I've used dvd shrink with anydvd I get about 3/4 of the way done and the whole computer shuts down, turns completely off. Its about five years old and someone told me I might need a new power supply. Also when I down load pictures or even a new update from anydvd it takes nearly and hour to do something that once took 10 min. Is a new power supply my problem or has the computer had it, time for a new one. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

After 5 years, it is time for a new computer regardless of how well your old one is running.

You might try reloading windows, sounds more like a software issue than hardware.

Thanks for the reply, I was kind of thinking that but just wasn't wanting to do it. I did read some where that I need to take the cover off and clean the inside out. Never done that, doubt that will help much but will try it

If you have not cleaned it in 5 years, you will probably find a ton of dust inside...perhapse even enough to cause cooling issues.

Also another thing aside from the heat issue may be a slowly failing HDD. I have seen that in the past. You may want to run some HDD diags.
