A year ago my graphics card died and i never found out why. It mysteriously stoped so i replaced it but now its happened again and i know that this doesnt happen for know reason. I have had many computers and never had this happen. Could anyone tell me whats happend and how to stop it before i install another card.

Please tell me if you need any infomation about my computer.

Are you talking about the same graphics card breaking twice or are you talking about the replacement card dying?

If the latter, things break and/or you have bad luck with video cards.

There is a more more possibility that the PC killed the graphics card, but I think it's more likely that you just had 2 bad cards.

Its two different cards braking. at the same time i replaced the first one i got another computer and that one has the same amount of use and hasnt broken at all. The computer with the graphics card problem has had many problems.

Different computer, different graphics card failing.

I hate to say it, but I think you just have bad luck. :-(

Often a "lemon" system is due to something as simple as a cheap power supply or a slightly defective mainboard. IF you or a friend have a good multimeter, I would recomend doing a test to see that your power supply is outputting correct voltages.

i think it is the power supply. I remember when i got the computer that i thought it wasnt good but i didnt think it would cause a problem. Im going to test it later. I have been using the graphics on the motherboard but i booted the computer up and it acted like that was dead too i left it a minute then it suddenly stared working as if it had JUST booted and not a minute into booting.

I booted the computer today and the motherboard graphics card didnt work so i pluged the moniter into the main graphics card and i worked fine. It seem they keep switching over any ideas on how to fix/stop it?

Are you talking about integrated graphics vs. an add-on card. The reason that they keep "switching" is because when the computer boots, it thinks that the add-on card is dead or isn't there so if goes over to the integrated graphics.

I still say bad graphics card.

Try removing the add-on card and run on the integrated graphics for awhile and if you have no problems, then replace the card.
