dell laptop won't install windows

hello again everyone, so today i woke up more frustrated then before because of this laptop, whenever i try to install windows or anything by microsoft it just wont , it hangs and does not give me any errors it just leads me to belive that its working , my hdd light goes into a verry consistant pattern and the install hangs when it trys to boot off of the hdd for the first time after windows has copied the first set of files. so i thought win-xp would do it but that actually starts from the hdd and trys to finnish but hangs when it gets to 35 min left and it tells me its still installing files , and also the hdd does the same repditive patteren its like a steady flash, so i tryed diff things in my bios like changing the controller to ide then to ahci and still the exact same thing .....and the mem (ram) is fine i checked and the hdd seems to be fine, i can partition it and format it just fine so im stumped, its a dell studio 1537, 3 gig ram, 300 gig hdd scorpio, cpu is intell centrino. Any help would be great and id like to thank in advance anyone who des try . cheers !

What I would suggest is get a copy of Hirens boot CD and run the hard drive checking programs on there. As there may be a error on your hard drive.

i thought the same thing but i put it in my other laptop and installed windows xp, vista and 7 just to see and all went well, it seems to me like its my bios holding me back, and a while ago i was messing with this computrace option in there and thought id set it on , well now its set active and i have to reinstall and thought this might be it , so i looked that up and its software and hardware that came with my comp incase it was stolen but i never set up any account so its deactive really but i cant turn it off . its a perm on feature i found out so im not sure if its a security thing that wont let me reinstall cause of the being on , if so thatsstupid cause i moreless bricked my new laptop lol, i just cant leave anything factory lol , oh and i even put a totaly diff hdd in it and it has the same problem !... so like i say thanks for any help :)!
