Epson Scanner Settings Reset

On my Epson v700 scanner, I can set and save a custom scanning provile. After I do a preview scan, the custom settings I made, revert to the default profile. How do I get the settings to remain? Epson has no clue. I uninstalled the drivers, software, removed all epson files and folders, and registry entries, reinstalled the software, no change.
