in BIOS the following is set and is the stock setup:
Speed: 200
Mulitplier: 9x
vCore: Auto
This gives me an FSB of 400 and a CPU clock of 1.8 Ghz
Here is where my brain locks up. If I lower the multiplier and increase the speed (multiplier can be from 6-9) to increase the clock, what happens when the FSB tries to go over 400? Will it throttle itself down, reset to 200 or fail to boot and force me to do a BIOS reset?
and as far as I can get from the links above it may be that my FSB can actually run at 800 (meaning BIOS speed can be set to 400)
What about the vCore? Should I keep it at auto or will I have to manually increase it?
from various guides I've seen this model CPU have been run stable at speed in excess of 3.2 Ghz with a cooler smaller than mine (ran 2.7 with stock cooler) So if I am guessing right about FSB being able to run 800 I should be able to get to the 2.7-3.0 mark without placing any real stress on my components, as it seem all I have them on are the BIOS default settings...
