hi.
i got a intel core 2 quad 2.24ghz, 2x2gb ram (2=1066fsb and 2=800 ) , 700watt power supply but some cheap company, gigabyte motherboard and gt220 gigabyte graphic card.
issue i get is that when i start at high resolution on hd its sort of blurs my text view even after doing all sort of settings on it. my games run and simply hang, say for need for speed shift or even the mafia 2 . Practically all game hang except PES. so i am confused whats causing such a tremendous draw back in my pc.
pc case is thermaltake with 2 fans attached that is in front and end. and the processor fan is the base model by intel.what's holding back my pc so badly?

The issue is probably not the GT220. However, the GT220 is quite a weak graphics card, so you may well find that games run quite slowly. First off, get rid of the 'cheap company' PSU, that's likely to cause you all sorts of problems, but even if it isn't responsible for your current issues, cheap PSUs are actually electrically unsafe and are a fire hazard. A fair few people I know have had cheap PSUs and they've caught fire. You need only buy something like a 400W Corsair CX, 400W is plenty for your system.

hmm alright. I was considering on changing the PSU. anyways the thing is mafia 2 can be run on 8600gt so i bet 220gt which came out recently compared to 8600 for sure will work out .. So kindly do recommend what other options have i got

Well change the PSU first, we'll see what happens then if that makes no difference.
The 8600GT for Mafia 2 is the minimum requirement. The GT220 is 60% faster than the 8600GT which means it's above the minimum, but it isn't going to run the game particularly well.

thanks for the reply and no doubt on the fact that it wont run the game particularly well but as long as it plays then well and good .This rig belongs to my friend so I am trying hard 2 get his machine work. lets hope the PSU makes a whole lot of difference.

I'll warn you, I'm not especially confident it will change anything, but it is certainly possible, and the PSU should be changed regardless of whether it solves the problem.

no i completely understand .When i had my pc i had posted alot back then about why and what parts should be bought. This fellow blindly went with the dealers word . anyways lets just keep our fingers crossed that it's PSU problem only.
