hey,
Alright so i have an old IBM thinkpad a30 from 2000 that i got from a friend so i thought i might have a use for it. He said there was a problem with the screen. So i plugged it all up and turned it on and it made sounds of the hard drive spinning and sounded like it was booting up. But thats all it did except beep a couple of time, but that went away after i reseated the ram.Two of the little lights at the top of the keyboard are lit up but none of the little lights on the screen are on and neither is the screen itself. It's completely black. I have tried using an external monitor to try and get an image to no avail. I also took the entire thing apart to check the connections with the screen but that didn't help either.The screens right hinge is also broken, if that makes a difference. I'm at a loss for what to do at the moment. Any ideas are much appreciated. thanks.

Update!: fixed the screen. nevermind.
