Is my laptop dead?

My laptop was working fine until a few days ago, when I noticed sometimes it wouldn't boot - even to the (in my case) Vaio screen prior to loading Windows.
Now, this isn't the first time I've had a problem booting - while not exactly tech-savvy, I've found that usually this would mean the hard disk is dead, and while the files would be lost, a new hard disk would have it working again.

This time, however, I found that the files are still perfectly fine, as I can access them if I put the drive into an enclosure and connect it to another computer. So I'm absolutely clueless as to how I would go about fixing this.

To make things worse, I can't seem to boot from disk or even access BIOS.

Can the hardware be saved? It's less than a year old, but I'm pretty sure that removing the hard disk would void the warranty, so if there's any way I could fix it, please let me know!

It'll be hitting the year-old mark in a little over 3 weeks.

I had to remove the Hard Disk in order to verify that it wasn't the problem, as I've had computers fail to boot in the past that was down to a failed hard disk. Would that void the warranty, or would I still be covered? (Sorry for making this sound more of a general Q&A Post, I'm just not sure)

if no label in that area & you don't tell them that you removed the hd then still covered.
